Hi Everybody, It’s Friday!! Sometimes it just amazes me how quickly a week passes. I am on sensory overload! My blood is pumping, adrenaline is flowing and I just want to knit, knit, knit! I just need more time, time time! O.K. whew I feel better.
Yesterday I had an absolutely enjoyable day with my Mom. We went to Winchester, VA and did a little shopping, had a nice lunch and then I took her to a yarn store. I don’t think she has ever been in a yarn store. I have not been doing my job as a dutiful daughter. I taught my Mom to crochet many years ago, she made a few afghans and stated she was done, that was all she needed to do. I was the crafty one in the family and she was happy with that. So over the years I have crocheted, quilted, beaded, etc. and she has enjoyed taking some of the projects off of my hands. I have been knitting for about 3 years and she has never really commented on anything that she would like to have. Well, that changed yesterday. This was the little store we went to
The name is so appropriate. We had fun exploring their 4 rooms of yarn. They had some projects knitted with some of their yarns and my Mom was “oh – that’s pretty” several times. There was one scarf in particular that caught her attention – It was made with a cotton/nylon ribbon called “Venezia”.
So naturally we had to come home with some of it to make a scarf. (Along with a few other yarns) This yarn knits up so lightweight and soft. My Mom doesn’t like anything heavy or hot, so it was a perfect choice. I can hardly wait to get started, but Autumn is a ways off and I have so many unfinished projects that need a little TLC first, must resist. I’ll see how long that lasts!
Have a great weekend!
