For a lot of people Saturday is Market Day. In honor of Market Day, whether it is Saturday or another day of the week (in my case several times a week), here are a couple of market bags that I have made.
This first bag is called Provence Crocheted Mesh Bag from Classic Elite Yarns. I really like the squared bottom of this bag.
I used Peaches & Creme – Color #180 Peppercorn Ombre
Size G hook
The only modifications I made was to do one less row on the base (since I used a larger hook) and I added my handles as I crocheted the top instead of attaching them after. I also worked 23 rounds for the body since I wanted my bag a little shorter. That’s it, really simple.
This bag is called String Bag by Sugar’n Cream.
- I used Peaches & Creme – Color #201 Sea Mist
- Size G Hook
The only modification I made to this pattern was the handles. I decided I wanted two short handles. To achieve this I started at one side of the bag and worked 2 rows of sc around the top of the bag. Then sc 14 stchs, ch 25 – skip 14 stchs, sc 28 stchs, ch25 – skip 14 stchs, sc 14 stchs. Next row sc around. Next row sc around except work hdc over the 25 stchs for the handle. Last row sc around. I think it worked fairly well.
