I started this bag about a year ago to experiment with color work and to get more experience reading charts. I got the 1st half of bag done and lost interest. My daughter saw it lying around and asked what it was and then said she would love to have it. So, of course, I had to finish it.

Plus it gave me more experience grafting things together. I was pleased with how it turned out.
The pattern is located in Creative Knitting Magazine, March 2005. I used one skein each of Bernat Softee Chunky in black and natural, and size 7 needles.
WOW! How nicely it was finished! Love the lining and the hardware. Your daughter will use it with pride 😀
Thank you – you’re so sweet!
It’s great, I would have loved to have it too. Nice lining and esp like the handles.
Thank you!
The lining is the perfect color to locate contents (I lose things in purses with black interiors). I was not aware you are an excellent seamstress as well as knitter & crocheter. Such lovely finishing!
Your daughter is lucky! 🙂
As beautiful as it is in the pictures, it was even more gorgeous in person.
That bag is fabulous! I love the contrast of the “zebra” outside and the polka dots on the inside. It’s gorgeous. You said you were experimenting with colorwork….was it a commercial pattern?
